We respond to enquiries within one working day and we can usually meet within a week. Appointments are available on weekdays and weekday evenings. Contact between appointments is usually limited to practical arrangements. At present, we do not offer telephone or Skype sessions.
Fees vary from £60 to £80 depending on the time of day. Fees are payable by cash, cheque or card.
Both parties make a commitment to the period of counselling/psychotherapy. If either person is unable to attend a session, it is important that this is communicated as soon as possible. If 48 hours’ notice is given, there is no charge for the missed session. If less than 48 hours’ notice is given, the full fee for the session is charged. When the counsellor/psychotherapist is unable to attend, there is no charge to the client. Missed sessions are usually rearranged for later weeks at the same time and place.
Counsellors and psychotherapists usually take holidays at Christmas, Easter and during the summer. Bank Holidays are also taken. Occasionally, breaks may be taken at other times of the year. Clients will be given as much notice as possible.
Our counsellors and psychotherapists abide by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy’s Ethical Framework. The counselling/psychotherapy is strictly confidential. Good therapeutic practice requires that regular supervision is undertaken. Any details shared with supervisors are also treated as confidential.
GPs and emergency contacts would only be contacted if there were significant concerns regarding illness, injury and harm to self or others. No information will be shared with third parties without prior discussion with the client.
We regret that our usual consulting rooms do not facilitate wheelchair access. However, every effort will be taken to find a suitable venue as required.
